Portable Arrested Over Mercedes Benz G-Wagon Debt
Nigerian artist Portable has reportedly been arrested by the police for failing to pay a debt of 14 million naira owed to a car dealer from whom he purchased a G-Wagon.
According to reports, the controversial singer was apprehended on Tuesday due to his alleged refusal to settle the debt incurred during the purchase of the G-Wagon from a car dealer in the state.
Portable had initially paid only N13 million after purchasing the vehicle, which was priced at N27 million. However, he purportedly declined to pay the remaining N14 million balance.
The car dealer escalated the issue to the police, leading to the singer’s arrest.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, has confirmed Portable’s arrest, saying the artist was arrested for defaulting on his G-Wagon payment.
“Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for ₦27m, paid ₦13m, and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today,” Hundeyin confirmed.
