BNXN and Ruger open up about resolving their Twitter feud
In early 2024, fans were taken by surprise when Ruger and BNXN (formerly known as Buju) resolved their feud. Their reconciliation came to light when they spoke to Billboard about it.
Ruger and BNXN put an end to their disagreement in the first quarter of 2024. They not only released a track titled “Romeo Must Die” but also collaborated on a joint EP called “RnB.” This EP features seven tracks and was officially launched on April 18, 2024. In their interview with Tetris Kelly of Billboard magazine, the duo delved into the details of how they patched things up.
During the conversation, they touched upon various aspects such as their reconciliation process, the creative journey behind their collaborative album “RnB,” the inspiration that drove the project, their association with Afrobeats star Burna Boy, and the growing global influence of the Afrobeats genre.
When asked about who reached out to settle their fight, BNXN narrated, “I remember just sitting in the plane. My team had booked a flight to London. I was waiting for my flight to take off and someone tapped saying ‘This guy’. I look over my shoulder and I see Ruger. At that moment it was like ‘Is it fight or fight'”.

Ruger backed up BNXN’s story by saying, “It’s music that is making all this happen and we are just real people at the end of the day”.
The duo also discussed Afrobeat Big 3 (Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy). Ruger said, “Before Burna Boy started with live performances, most afrobeats artists would just go with the DJ and just perform, Davido is a leader, many people follow his footsteps likewise, Wizkid too is a leader so just choose who you wanna follow”.
