Davido unveils plans for DMW artists to transition to Nine+ Records.
In addition to launching Nine+ Records, Davido has announced plans for all Davido Music Worldwide (DMW) artists to transition to the new record label.
During his press tour for his Madison Square Garden Timeless concert, Davido engaged in several interviews with the media. Notably, he recreated the iconic Kobe Bryant 2001 championship photo and proclaimed himself the Greatest of All Time in Nigeria, among other declarations.
The Grammy-nominated artist unveiled his collaboration with US distribution firm UnitedMasters to introduce the new label, Nine+ Records. This venture, announced on Thursday, April 18, 2024, aims to encompass a diverse range of genres beyond Afrobeats, including hip-hop, R&B, Latin, and country music. UnitedMasters’ Founder and CEO, Steve Stoute, commended Davido’s entrepreneurial spirit and expressed optimism about the collaboration.
On April 19, 2024, Davido took to his social media platform to announce the relocation of all DMW artists to Nine+ Records, stating, “All DMW artists would be moved to Nine+ Records … Clearing the air!”

In addition, Davido has extended his backing to Chess Master Tunde Onakoya in his quest to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Chess Marathon.
Following his electrifying performance at Madison Square Garden, Davido made a gracious appearance at Times Square, New York City, to throw his support behind Tunde Onakoya, the Chess in Slums master, as he endeavors to shatter the Guinness world record for the longest chess marathon.
