Nigerian singer Iyanya has taken steps to clarify misconceptions surrounding his encounter with a lady named Florence at Davido’s Timeless concert in 2023, addressing the matter during a recent interview with Naija FM.
Reflecting on the events that followed his performance at Davido’s concert in April 2023, Iyanya initially expressed interest in a woman who had caught his attention during the event. Identified as Florence, she had admirably shown her support for Iyanya while he was on stage, prompting him to connect with her.
After their initial meeting, Iyanya and Florence enjoyed a lunch date and a boat cruise, which led to speculation and negative commentary from social media users who accused him of interfering in her relationship.
However, during an interview with Naija FM that surfaced online on March 20, 2024, the Kukere hitmaker dispelled rumors of any romantic involvement with Florence. He clarified that his interest was sparked by Florence’s captivating personality, not her relationship status or physical appearance.
Upon speaking with Florence, Iyanya learned that she was going through a challenging period as her father battled cancer. Florence had taken a break from her responsibilities to attend the concert and unwind.
