Nigerian award-winning artist Davido has reacted to Anthony Joshua’s triumph over Francis Ngannou in the much-anticipated boxing bout held in Saudi Arabia.

Davido, while expressing his backing for Anthony Joshua, admitted to being drawn to the charisma of Cameroon’s mixed martial boxer, Francis Ngannou. Nevertheless, the 30BG boss reiterated his unwavering love and support for AJ, proudly representing Nigeria.

His post on social media read, “As a Nigerian of course I want AJ to win … but e get one soft spirit wey this Francis get and plus his story again … u go come Dey use style gbadun him way!! 😂 But gotta stick with the Homeland 🇳🇬.”

At last, Davido’s encouragement paid off when, on March 8, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Joshua defeated Ngannou in the second round.

This resulted in a follow-up message expressing the singer’s bewilderment at how quickly the battle had ended.

His follow-up post read, “Wait wat ?? I just tweeted … nawa … anyway up 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬💪🏾. 4 min difference 😂😂😂.”

In other news, BNXN, formerly known as Buju, has publicly apologized for his previous statement about Davido’s talent as an artist and his music.

The singer took to the quote of a post shared by the former DMW signee, Dremo, where he was called out for his remarks about Davido and the perceived intention behind them. BNXN initially made a post addressing a social media user who had categorized one of his newly unveiled artists as ‘mid’.

Acknowledging the criticism and reflecting on his previous statement, BNXN offered a sincere apology in the quote of Dremo’s post on the popular social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. This public apology demonstrates BNXN’s humility and willingness to take accountability for his words, reflecting a commendable level of maturity and growth.
