‘Zlatan used to give me clothes, money when I was nobody’ – Carter Efe
Carter Efe, a well-known Nigerian comedian, claimed that content creators who film themselves aiding the poor are merely profiting from other people’s suffering.
He revealed how legendary rapper Zlatan Ibile used to discreetly assist him before his rise to fame while denouncing the tendency of documenting acts of kindness.
Carter Efe claimed that while he was still in need, Zlatan used to help him out financially and with clothes, but no one was aware of it since he didn’t make a video to publicly publicize his thoughtful gesture.
The internet comic further disclosed that he was once given N1 million by famous blogger Tunde Ednut, who cautioned him against sharing the money on social media or notifying anyone.
Carter claims that he gained important life lessons from such encounters, which is why he keeps his charitable endeavors private whenever he wishes to assist someone.
He said; “These content creators who make videos of people they’re helping are just making money off the sufferings of these helpless people. They’re not genuine. When I was nothing, Zlatan used to give me clothes and money. In fact, he gave me everything. He didn’t do a video so the world could see what he was doing.
Tunde Ednut once gave me 1 million naira and warned me not to tell anybody. These things taught me a lot. This is why when I help anybody, I don’t make noise or say anything about it.”
Recall that Carter Efe had an encounter with Afrobeat superstar Davido.
In the video, Carter Efe, renowned for his unwavering support for Wizkid, expressed sheer excitement as he met Davido in Lagos.
Known primarily for his skits, Carter Efe has been vocal about his admiration for Wizkid, even releasing a hit song titled “Machala,” a nickname associated with Wizkid.
