Renowned Nigerian musician Yemi Alade, commonly referred to as Mama Africa, has given her fans a thrilling update, saying that the recording of her next album is close to completion. She shared the news on social media, sharing photos of herself with the message, “Album 80% done.”

This announcement comes after Yemi Alade teased her fans in November 2023 during an interview on Cool FM’s The Big Friday Show, where she hinted at the release of a project in 2024. Despite no official release date being announced yet, fans eagerly anticipate the arrival of her new music.
In addition to her album progress, Yemi Alade contributed to the music scene by creating the official song for the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations, which took place from January 13 to February 11, 2024. Titled ‘Akwaba,’ the song was a collaborative effort with Ivorian group Magic System, renowned for their global hit ‘Premier Gaou,’ and Egyptian star Mohamed Ramadan.
Yemi Alade’s musical prowess was further recognized at the 2023 inaugural Trace Music Award, where she clinched the award for Best Music Video for her song ‘Baddie.’
Moreover, Yemi Alade showcased her talents on a global stage by performing at the opening ceremony of the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 (AFCON). Despite Nigeria’s loss to Ivory Coast, Yemi Alade delivered a spectacular performance, leaving a lasting impression on audiences.
