Davido offers advice to US rapper Kanye West after he called out Adidas (Video)
Nigerian Afrobeat artist Davido recently provided some business advice to American rapper Kanye West following Kanye’s public criticism of Adidas on social media.
It’s important to mention that Adidas terminated its partnership with the once-billionaire rapper in 2022 due to a series of anti-Semitic remarks. Despite ending ties with the acclaimed artist, Adidas has been selling off its remaining Yeezy inventory.
Kanye West took to Instagram on Monday to express his frustration with the brand, alleging that they released a Yeezy design without his consent and exploited his dedicated fan base.
He stated that Adidas failed to compensate him with royalties for the sneakers they sold last year and continued to pursue a $250 million lawsuit against him, despite accusations of manufacturing counterfeit Yeezys and distributing them to his supporters.
“Anyone who truly supports me wouldn’t purchase these fake Yeezys. I didn’t create these colorways, I’m not profiting from them, and Adidas is suing me. All the new unauthorized 350s are uninspired, and everyone knows the 350s have lost their appeal.”
He posted a video on Instagram elaborating on his dispute with Adidas, asserting:
“Not only are they releasing unauthorized colorways, they’re suing me for $250 million and refusing to compensate me for these shoes that bear my name.”
