Burna Boy fumes as Eedris Abdulkareem slams him for saying ‘no Nigerian helped him’
Renowned Nigerian musician Burna Boy has criticized veteran rapper Eedris Abdulkareem for dismissing his comments made in 2020 regarding the absence of mentorship in the music industry. Abdulkareem labeled Burna Boy’s assertion as ‘unwise.’
In a recent segment of the popular podcast “The Honest Bunch,” Abdulkareem addressed various subjects, including Burna Boy’s earlier statement. Burna Boy had previously expressed that he received little support from established artists when starting his career. Abdulkareem deemed this statement to lack wisdom.
“You hear someone like Burna Boy say no one helped him in Nigeria. That’s stupid talk”

In response to Abdulkareem’s criticism, Burna Boy reportedly utilized the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to address the matter. Although the post has since been removed, Burna Boy called out Abdulkareem for his remarks, asserting that the veteran rapper wasn’t at fault for his statement. Instead, Burna Boy redirected blame toward those who assisted Abdulkareem with medical expenses during his battle with kidney complications.
His statement on social media read, “Abdul Kareem abi wetin dem dey call your papa, I no blame you. I blame people wey donate money for your hospital bills. And I wish say you be person ey fit dey enter the kind places wey I dey dey. make we use mistake kam.”
