In 2023, Omah Lay’s track ‘Soso‘ claimed the title of the most-heard song on radio in Nigeria, captivating listeners across the nation. Following the success of his two outstanding EPs, Omah Lay released his debut album ‘Boy Alone‘ in 2022, featuring the hit single ‘Soso‘.
Nearly a year after its release, ‘Soso‘ surged in popularity in Nigeria, dominating both streaming platforms and radio airwaves.
According to the data released by TurnTable Charts, ‘Soso‘ secured the top spot as the most-heard song on Nigerian radio in 2023, accumulating an impressive 1.74 billion impressions. This feat places it ahead of some of the biggest hits of the year.
Spyro’s ‘Who’s Your Guy‘ remix featuring Tiwa Savage claimed the second position with 1.53 billion impressions, while Asake’s chart-topper ‘Lonely at the Top‘ followed closely behind in third place with 1.46 billion impressions. Victony & Tempoe’s ‘Soweto‘ secured the fourth spot with 1.43 billion impressions.
Davido’s track ‘Feel‘ rounded off the top five with 1.42 billion impressions. Notably, Davido was the only artist with two songs in the top 10, with his Grammy-nominated single ‘Unavailable‘ featuring Musa Keys securing the eighth position with 1.25 billion impressions.
