‘My dad said I’m still legend’ – Davido says after losing Grammy award

The well-known Afrobeats musician from Nigeria, Davido, said that he is pleased with himself simply for having been nominated for the 66th Grammy Awards, which took place recently.

Remember that on Sunday, the 2024 Grammy Awards were hosted at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles?

As all Nigerian nominees were eliminated, Davido, a first-time Grammy nominee, was not successful in winning any of the three categories in which he was nominated.

In his most recent interview with Rolling Stone, the Grammy nominee talked about his rise to fame and said that, despite the loss, his father told him that he remains a legend.

“Being nominated alone is enough to make me proud of myself. I just want my song to be heard on the radio once or twice in the beginning, but for it to transcend to this is just amazing and God’s doing.

“I was on the phone with my dad yesterday and he was like ‘Son no matter what happens, you are still a legend’. So yeah, he is a big fan,” he said.
