Cassper Nyovest praised Côte d’Ivoire’s victory over Nigeria
South African artist Cassper Nyovest recently commended Côte d’Ivoire for their triumph over Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations 2023 championship match.
Sharing a glimpse of the post-match fervour, Nyovest expressed relief, suggesting that had Nigeria won, the celebrations would have been relentless. He hailed Côte d’Ivoire for, in his view, restoring global harmony.
In a light-hearted plea directed at Nigerians, Nyovest joked about the return of Amapiano music, hinting that since Nigeria didn’t clinch the title, the music genre should revert to its creators.
“Côte d’Ivoire have restored world peace!!! They deserve the gold medal for winning CAF and an extra medal of Honour!!!” he wrote.
“Nigeria does that mean we can have our Amapiano back ? Cause I mean technically, you didn’t win the tournament so return to creators please?”
Meanwhile, his remarks sparked a reaction from Nigerian fans, with some engaging in playful banter while others acknowledged Nyovest’s sentiments.
