The 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony marked a significant moment for Nigerian artist Burna Boy. While he didn’t secure any awards this year, his performance was nothing short of breathtaking and unprecedented. Burna Boy’s unforgettable showcase at the 2024 Grammy Awards stands as a historic milestone for African music.
This recognition underscores the profound impact of the African artist on the global music stage. It marked the inaugural occasion where an African artist delivered a live performance at the Grammy Awards, providing remarkable visibility to the diversity and richness of African music.
Despite the evening’s results not aligning in his favor, Burna Boy displayed remarkable humility. In an interview with Billboard, he expressed, “I’m just happy that we all get to shine.”
This positive outlook not only showcases the artist’s talent but also reflects his determination to continue excelling despite setbacks.
During the 2024 Grammys, Burna Boy took the stage and delivered a medley of songs from his latest album, “I Told Them.” Surrounded by dancers and a live band, his performance included “On Form,” seamlessly transitioning into “City Boys” and “Sittin’ on Top of the World.” The latter part of the melody featured collaborations with Brandy and 21 Savage, adding further flair to an already remarkable performance.
