Nigerian hip-hop artist Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, popularly known as Vector, has expressed amusement at the claim by the Police Force that the trending 2024 slogan “No gree for anybody” is dangerous and has the potential to incite chaos.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, January 10, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, cautioned citizens against using the slogan. According to the police, based on gathered intelligence, “No Gree For Anybody” is considered a revolutionary phrase with the intention of sparking a crisis across the country.

The police spokesperson said, “Let me say it again that the new slogan for 2024, “No gree for anybody.” We have been informed by intelligence that this slogan is coming from a revolutionary sector that may likely cause problems across the country.

“No gree for anybody’’ is being seen as a normal talk but in the security community we have seen it as a very dangerous slogan that can trigger crisis.’’

Reacting through his Twitter account, Vector expressed skepticism about whether Nigerians would heed the police’s warning to stop using the slang.

He also posed a rhetorical question, asking if security personnel intended to “gree” (agree) with thieves during operations, adding a touch of humor to his response.

The rapper tweeted, “Police say “ no gree for anybody “ is a slogan that should be cautioned… Una wan gree for thieves? 🤣”
