The highly awaited Afro Nation Nigeria festival, which was scheduled to take place in Lagos this December, has unexpectedly been canceled. This was issued in a statement signed by the organizers on October 31, 2023.

The festival’s organizers’ steadfast dedication to upholding extraordinarily high standards was noted as the reason for the cancellation.

The statement reads in part “As event organizers, we hold ourselves to extremely high standards, and it has become clear to us that it is currently not possible to deliver a show that is of the quality that Nigeria deserves in December 2023… We know that you are dissapointed as we are and to all those who have purchased tickets, we love you and thank you for supporting us on this journey.”

Notably, this was supposed to be the first Afronation festival to take place in Nigeria considering it has successfully hosted events in various locations, including Portugal, Ghana, Puerto Rico, Miami, and Detroit.
