Mavin Records boss and renowned producer, Don Jazzy, has taken to his social media page to react to the achievement of Rema’s ‘Calm Down.’

This track, performed by Nigerian sensation Rema (a Mavin Records artist) and featuring the illustrious American singer Selena Gomez, has made history by amassing one billion streams on Spotify as of September 10.

This remarkable milestone marks ‘Calm Down‘ as the first African song to ever reach this impressive one billion streams landmark.

The official Spotify X (formerly known as Twitter) account announced this significant achievement on Sunday evening, welcoming Rema into the exclusive Spotify’s Billions Club.

The post read: ‘We can’t Calm Down, @heisrema has entered the #BillionsClub with the first African artist-led track to hit a billion streams on Spotify! Congratulations to Rema and @SelenaGomez!’

Don Jazzy took to his X page to celebrate the win, noting that it’s not a small achievement. He congratulated Rema, Selena Gomez, and also thanked their fans, the Ravers and the Selenators, as well as the Mavin team.

He accompanied his caption with a mixed video of Rema performing the hit song, meeting Selena Gomez, and fans singing the lyrics.

On his X page, Don Jazzy wrote, “Massive congratulations to @heisrema as Calmdown ft @selenagomez just crossed 1 billion streams on Spotify. This is not small at allllll. Thanks for the love and support guys.”
