Asake, Young Jonn, Seyi Vibez nominated for 2023 Headies Award Next Rated category.
Asake, Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, and other performers have been named as nominees for the Next Rated Award by the renowned Nigerian Award, which is preparing to host its 16th edition.
With the release of the complete list of nominees for the 2023 Headies Awards, the award season in Nigeria has officially begun.
The Headies Award, one of Nigeria’s most prestigious music awards, was held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, however, an official date for the award event itself has not yet been determined.
The Headies is a music awards program created in 2006 by the Nigerian Hip Hop World Magazine to honour outstanding accomplishments in the country’s music sector. Established and up-and-coming performers perform during the yearly celebration.
Only songs published during the 16th edition’s year-in-review period, which runs from January 2022 to March 2023, will be eligible for nominations.
The Headies Academy posted the 2023 Next Rated Category nomination list on its social media channels on July 12, 2023. Artists who enjoyed a successful year musically belong in this category.
Asake is at the top of the list after having an exceptional year in 2022, during which he released a string of singles that topped the charts, culminating in the success of his debut album, “Mr. Money With The Vibe.”
Also nominated is Young Jonn who enjoyed a strong 2022 with the release of his hit singles ‘Dada‘ and ‘Xtracool‘.
Spyro makes the list following the release of his hit single ‘Who Is Your Guy‘.
Victony gets nominated after the success of his hit track “Soweto” and the release of his “Outlaw” EP.
Seyi Vibez comes in at number seven on the list after having a great career because of the success of his debut album, “Billion Dollar Baby,” which catapulted him into the spotlight.
