How my father arrested my fans, show promoters – Davido.
Nigerian Award-winning artist Davido has said that his dad, Mr Adedeji Adeleke, used to have his show promoters and fans arrested.
He claimed that because his father valued education and business, he did not initially support the notion of pursuing music as a vocation.
Speaking in an interview with the Lateish Show on Channel 4, Davido stated his billionaire father could not tolerate the idea of his son not receiving an education.
OBO said that if his father learned about an occasion at which he was scheduled to perform, he would instruct the police to raid the venue and detain any audience members they could find in addition to the event’s organizers.
The DMW boss also claimed that Mr Adeleke has a way of monitoring his activities and movements.
He said; “I come from a family where it’s like, education, education, business, so over time my decision to do music was like a beef.
“Any show he [my dad] heard I’m performing at, he sends the police. He arrests the fans, and promoters. He has a camera watching wherever I go to.”
He did, however, acknowledge that his father’s choice was influenced by his history of missing school when he had only started making music.
