I didn’t feel important as goalkeeper – Burna Boy on why he changed careers.
Grammy award-winning artist Burna Boy has revealed why he changed his career as he started as a footballer.
He claimed he liked goalkeeping but didn’t enjoy being excellent at it since he “didn’t feel important.”
In a conversation with British-Nigerian media personality Julie Adenuga, he revealed this.
Burna Boy said, “I love football. I was good at playing football but the wickedest thing was that I was good at goalkeeping. That’s why I just stopped because [goalkeeping] was dead. I didn’t feel so important. I just didn’t feel like I was needed like that. I felt like without me the team will still be alright. I don’t want to spend my life like that.”
Burna Boy has released five studio albums since his debut song ‘Like To Party‘ was released in 2011.
In 2021, his fourth studio album ‘Twice As Tall‘ became the first and only Nigerian album to win a Grammy.
Meantime, Nigerian music superstars, Wizkid, Burna Boy and Tiwa Savage have shared words of encouragement and support for chef Hilda Baci’s attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time.
Wizkid appeared on Hilda’s Instagram live session during the cook-a-thon where he showed support with love emojis.
Burna Boy on the other hand shared words of encouragement on his social media platforms stating, “Go Hilda. we are rooting for you to break that record. And I trust say the food go sweet die.”
Meanwhile, Tiwa Savage stormed the event live at the Amore Gardens in Lekki to shower Hilda support.
