Mp3bullet.ng presents the top Nigerian songs for the month of April 2023.
Here are the Nigerian songs that caught our attention in April 2023.
The month of April was off to a good start when Davido dropped his fourth album, “Timeless” a day before the new month started.
What followed next was a series of hit songs from established talented acts such as Olamide, Asake, Joeboy and others.
Also, artists like Bayanni and Victony bless our speakers with remixes of their respective hits.
Here are all the songs that got dominated the major parts of April 2023.
2:30- Asake
Asake continues with another song titled “2:30″ after launching his 2023 campaign with the mid-tempo song “Yoga“. Blaise Beatz and, of course, Magic Sticks, his companion in crime, co-produced it.
One doesn’t really need a second hearing to make up one’s mind about 2:30′; it is true hit stuff. The song’s structure is modelled after the progression of songs like “Sungba,” “Terminator,” and “Peace Be Unto You (PBUY),” to name a few.
Duffel Bag- Joeboy
Joeboy returns in an enthusiastic mood for his second single of the year with ‘Duffel Bag,’ his latest track off his upcoming sophomore album titled ‘Body & Soul.
One of the more jubilant and dancefloor-inspiring riddims on the album, “Duffel Bag” features some deftly designed instrumentation, including 808 bass lines, elegant string stabs, and fluid, soulful guitars that serve as the musical background for Joeboy’s signature lovely and genuine vocal performance.
‘Duffel Bag‘ is Joeboy’s follow-up to his last song, the sizzling ‘Body & Soul,’ which is named after his impending sophomore album.
Ask about Me- Mohbad
Mohbad is renowned for his distinctive musical fusion of hip-hop, afro-pop, and fuji music. His music is distinguished by his characteristic street-wise lyrics, which frequently emphasize the hardships of the common man in Nigeria, without ignoring the raunchy aspect of his songs.
Mohbad has released a brand-new song called “Ask About Me” to launch his 2023 campaign. The song, which follows Mohbad’s November 2022 release “Weekend,” is his first official single for the year.
The song “Ask About Me,” whose production credit is shared by Niphkeys and Nektunez, has a catchy beat overlaid with contagious amapiano sounds and Mohbad’s distinctive viscous voice.
Ta Ta Ta remix- Bayanni ft Jason Derulo
With the help of renowned American singer, songwriter, and dancer Jason Derulo, Bayanni created a remix for his popular song “Ta Ta Ta.” The original version (OG version) was created and included on Bayanni’s self-titled debut EP.
The extended play, which was first released in August of last year, includes 4 strong songs with no cameos from guests.
The “Ta Ta Ta” remix, created by up-and-coming beatmaker Prestige, features additional sultry vocals by Jason Derulo. Following his participation on Mavin Records’ ‘Chapter X‘ album, the song will be considered Bayanni’s first official single for the year.
Trumpet – Olamide Ft Ckay
Olamide has partnered with the renowned vocalist and record producer CKay for his most recent track, “Trumpet.” The song serves as both a prelude to Olamide’s next album and his first official single of 2023 as a lead artist.
“Trumpet” combines CKay’s soulful R&B approach with Olamide’s distinctive sound. The song features strong beats, captivating hooks, and soft melodies that highlight the best of both singers.
This collaboration is certain to be one of the highlights of the year on the Nigerian music scene thanks to the combined abilities of Olamide and CKay and their avant-garde musical style.
Unavailable- Davido ft Musa Keys
Being shielded from negative energy is a goal, and on this flawless record, Davido is all about that.
Although the song is called UNAVAILABLE, Davido is never away from his fans. The song, which is featured on Davido’s most recent and fourth studio album, “Timeless,” is one of the most popular in Nigeria right now and is ranking well on many streaming sites.
‘Unavailable‘ is the fifth track from the lauded “Timeless” album, which was produced by the highly sought-after beatmaker Magicsticks.
There are 17 songs on the album, and among the guests are Musa Keys, Asake, and Angelique Kidjo. In addition, 1da Banton, Magicsticks, Yung Alpha, Blaise Beatz, and other musicians contributed to its production and songwriting.
Soweto 2.0- Victony, Tempoe ft Omah Lay
When Victony and Tempoe debuted the first Soweto Remix, a song that combined the extraordinary abilities of Don Toliver and Rema, the fans were overjoyed.
As fans of the genre collectively lost themselves in the euphoria, their adoration transformed into an intoxicating whirlwind of excitement and fervour, shattering the very foundation of fandom.
However, in the midst of this whirlwind of joy, an unofficial version, featuring the incomparable Omah Lay, covertly surfaced on social media and enchanted listeners with its irresistible allure.
The unofficial Soweto Remix, featuring the mellifluous vocal prowess of Omah Lay, captured the attention of admirers who found themselves magnetically pulled to its magnificent harmonies and enticing melodies.
It was like a resonant symphony booming through the digital corridors. The collective desire of the fandom resonated on social media as the outcry for its official release grew, demanding its rightful position in Victony’s collection.
Victony, who was sensitive to the needs of his devoted fanbase, planned a significant reveal in response to these repeated requests: the release of the second Soweto Remix, which features the inspirational singer-songwriter Omah Lay.
Believe me – Johnny Drille
This year has included many songs from the Mavin Records stable, but it is undoubtedly incomplete without a Johnny Drille record. Say nothing more, since the incredibly brilliant singer-songwriter recently released a brand-new song called “Believe Me.”
‘Believe Me,’ which was created by the boss himself Don Jazzy, is Johnny Drille’s first official song of the year. It is a follow-up to his previously published extended play, “Home,” which includes Phyno, The Cavemen, and Adekunle Gold.
