Akon Denies Calling Out Elon Musk on Twitter, Claims Account Was Hacked.

Akon alleges his account was hacked and disputes ever criticising Elon Musk on Twitter.
The Grammy-nominated singer and businessman Akon have distanced himself from a tweet mad eon his account criticising Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla Motors, for the social media platform’s verification procedure.
The singer of “Lonely” claimed that the tweet in question was not his own in a statement that he posted earlier today on his Twitter account, alleging that his account had been hacked.
“My account was just hacked. This tweet didn’t come from me,” Akon wrote.
“Whomever hacked my account, please keep your personal opinions away from my profile respectfully.”
The tweet in question, which was sent out earlier, accused Musk of eliminating Twitter’s verification system and making users pay for it.
The performer recalled a time when Twitter was having trouble growing its user base and had to bribe artists to stick around.
“Back in the day, Twitter was begging musicians to stay on cause they didn’t have traffic.
“They came up with a verification process to protect accounts from fake ones, now Elon Musk is taking that away and forcing us to pay.
“FYI, I ain’t paying shit for something we helped build,” the tweet read.

The musician has since distanced himself from those remarks, insisting that a hacker was responsible for them.
It is yet unknown who carried out the hack and whether any additional steps would be made to look into the problem.
Some years ago, Twitter implemented a verification mechanism to safeguard user accounts from fraudulent profiles and impersonators.
Elon Musk, who is well-known for his controversial tweets, said late last week that he will do away with the verification procedure altogether and replace it with a subscription service.
