Rema extends record on Billboard Hot 100.
Award-winning artist Rema has extended his record on the Billboard Hot 100 to two weeks (starting with April 1, 2023, chart week).
Nigerian artists keep making their imprint on the global charts as Afrobeats quickly overtakes other music genres as the most popular worldwide.
After climbing to No. 8 last week, Selena Gomez’s remix of “Calm Down” became the highest-charting African single on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song broke the previous record held by Wizkid’s ‘Essence‘ featuring Tems and Justin Bieber.
Since its debut, “Calm Down” has achieved enormous popularity on a global level. Now, it has more than a billion streams across all platforms and is the most-watched Afrobeats music video on YouTube.

When it enters its 53rd week on the chart, Rema’s “Calm Down” maintains its top spot and extends its record to thirty weeks.
People by Libianca, which is currently in its sixteenth week on the chart, is still at No. 2. Tems‘ ‘Free Mind‘ stays at NO. 3, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush‘ remains at NO 4, while Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last‘ rise to NO. 5.
Wizkid’s ‘Essence‘ drops to No. 6, CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti‘ remains No. 7, Fireboy’s ‘Peru‘ maintains No. 8, Adekunle Gold’s ‘PNDS‘ debuts at No. 9, and Oxlade’s ‘Ku Lo Sa‘ falls to No. 10.
