“I spent 52million on LIKE Song, Video and promotion” – Iyanya says as he expresses shock at how expensive promoting his songs in Nigeria
-
Iyanya discusses the cost of producing and marketing his song “Like.”
Nigerian singer, Iyanya has opened up on what it cost him to record, shoot the video and promote of his hit song, “Like“.
Iyanya claims he spent N52m on the visuals and promotion of his 2022 hit tune ‘Like’ which featured Davido and Kizz Daniel.
The ‘Kukere’ master, in a tweet, lamented that promoting new music had become incredibly expensive and encouraged individuals to be thankful to God when their songs suddenly go viral without promotion.
“Promoting music has become very expensive. If you are lucky to get a song go viral, make you thank God,” Iyanya said.

In a different tweet, he revealed how much money he had spent on music videos, promotions, and songs since 2021 while trying to reassure up-and-coming artists not to be put off by his disclosure.
The cheapest I have spent on a song since January 2021 is 27m.
When I dropped “LIKE” FT Davido and kizz Daniel, we spent 52million, song, Video and promotion.
This should not discourage any up and coming artiste, you can do it, all you need it’s consistency.

However, the singer’s revelation was met with scepticism from some fans who argued that the amount was too much to ‘waste’ on one song.
In response, the singer tweeted;
“I pray we start telling ourselves the truth on the app.
We all like to package, but make we talk the real thing sometimes.”

Responding to another fan on how finances have been a challenge for upcoming artists, he wrote;
“I feel for up and coming artists, the pressure on established artiste is immense and cash is available but for for up and coming artiste, zero pressure and limited resources.
That’s all you need to do is be consistent and make use of all mediums available for marketing.”
Exactly.
