Graham Potter provides N’Golo Kante injury return plan.
Graham Potter has confirmed that he intends to play N’Golo Kante over the international break as the midfielder nears full fitness.
Due to a severe hamstring injury, Kante has missed 33 games across all competitions this season. He hasn’t played since the second week of the season, but he’s coming close to making a comeback after being included in the squad to play Everton this weekend.
Potter has now described how he plans to make the defensive midfielder fully healthy before the March international break and the Premier League match with Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on April 1.

“N’Golo is due to carry on training this week, and potentially with a game to get some minutes,” Potter told club media. “That’s the plan there. The game will probably be internal. We need to control that as much as we can. But that will be good.
“We have got to hope the players come back injury free. And we will use the break to refresh and then prepare for a really hectic April.”
In addition to his players, Potter said that he himself needed the international break to unwind after a trying few months as a coach.
“It’s important for me as the leader to gain some freshness and recharge the batteries,” he explained. “That’s sensible.
“It’s been an intense few weeks. We have had a couple of decent weeks. Clearly we wanted to get the fourth win in a row and go into this international break with a victory.
“We have to keep thinking about how we can move forward and what we have to do better.”
