Nigerian global star, Tems is one of the artists whose fashion looks and outfits are as creative as her music.
While the “Try Me” singer’s style and outfits have changed and blossomed over the years, true fans who knew Tems from her upcoming days know that the singer favoured a lot of baggy and oversized pants and shirts back then.
Tems was very cautious about not being sexualized when she was just starting out in the music industry. She wore a lot of big clothing and barely ever turned her back to the camera to display her gorgeous behind.
She also went through a phase where all she did to her hair was wear it in a pineapple bun with her natural hair. She then started to fall in love with box braids and knotless braids.
The new Tems, the one shaking hands with Jay-Z and Beyonce and getting requests for features from Mary J. Blige and DJ Khalid, is more embracing of her feminine side.
With the rise in her popularity, her style seems to have evolved into more feminine and body-fitted looks.
Recently, the singer made headlines over her dress at the 2023 Oscars and people can’t stop about it, both bad and good -but who cares?

Her controversial Oscar outfit
Tems stunned everyone on Sunday night at the 95th Academy Awards with the most audacious piece she has ever attempted.
The singer, who was a nominee at the awards night, ruled the champagne carpet in an avant-garde abstract white hooded gown created by Los Angeles-based fashion designer Lessja Verlingieri of Lever Couture.
Intricate pleated structural features on the avant-garde dress flowed and ebbed from her shoulders, across her waist, and even to the top of her head, wrapping around her cheekbones.
The sculptural dress also featured a high sliding split and an eye-catching train. Tems resembled heaven itself with its hazy, fluffy landscape.
The dress might have attracted some nasty comments about its obstructing headpiece but it only fuelled the impact she had on the ceremony.
