Gubernatorial elections: 9ice takes to the streets of Lagos to canvass vote for Sanwo Olu
As the 2023 Gubernatorial elections in Nigeria draw closer, Nigerian singer, 9ice has gone out of his comfort zone for his preferred candidate, Sanwo Olu.
The Lagos State gubernatorial election of 2023 will be held on March 11, 2023. This election will also include elections for the Lagos State House of Assembly, twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections, and all other state houses of assembly.
The election will take place two weeks after the National Assembly and presidential elections. The incumbent APC Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is entitled to compete for re-election and has been renominated by his party.
In the primaries, which took place between 4 April and 9 June 2022, Sanwo-Olu was renominated by the All Progressives Congress on May 26 without any opposition, while Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran was chosen by the People’s Democratic Party on May 25.
On 4 August, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour—who withdrew from the PDP primary in May—won the primary of the Labour Party.
While his Principal, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was declared winner of the Presidential elections, Sanwo Olu faces strong opposition from Labour party candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who has received massive support online.
