Thomas Partey explains why he’s missed so many Arsenal games.
Thomas Partey has undergone training to explain the injury problems that have caused him to miss 39 games for Arsenal over the course of three seasons.
With seven different issues forcing him to spend time on the treatment table, the Ghanaian international has missed more games for the north London giants than a full Premier League season.
When healthy, former Atletico Madrid star Partey has become a talismanic figure for Arsenal and is desperate to prevent any further forced absences. Partey missed just seven games throughout his more than five years as a senior player in Spain.

Partey has told football.london of the reasons for him sitting out so many important games – including a 3-1 defeat to fellow title hopefuls Manchester City this season: “Well, I think it’s adaption. If you go from a different league, normal things happen. I am working on everything, I am trying my best. I am trying to help the team any time I can. When I am ready and fit, I will be ready to help the team.”
Partey, a 29-year-old midfielder, was an integral part of Arsenal’s strategy in their most recent Premier League match, scoring a critical goal that sparked the Gunners’ incredible comeback in their amazing 3-2 triumph against Bournemouth.
Arsenal, who have reclaimed a five-point lead in the Premier League standings, will play Sporting CP of Portugal in the Europa League on Thursday before taking on Fulham in a London derby match on Sunday.
