Burna Boy received a Grammy for Best World Music Album in 2021.
He was nominated again the following year in the same category as Angélique Kidjo, a famous Beninese singer.
His 6th album released last year is titled Love Damini; it includes the hit “last last”, “For My Hand”, “It’s Plenty” and others.
Wizkid
As the first African musician to top the Billboard chart in 2016, Wizkid is one of the most well-known Afrobeats artists right now.
He has been active in the global music scene since 2011, when he launched his debut album, Superstar. To date, he has released 5 albums, the most recent of which was More Love, Less Ego in 2022.

The Nigerian artist CKay, one of the newest sensations on the African music scene, is in sixth place in this top 10 list with 1.07 billion views.
One of the most well-liked musicians among the general public, the present resident of Warner Music in South Africa was propelled to the forefront by the global musical tsunami “Love Nwantiti,” published by the Chocolate City label.
In 2018, CKay issued his debut record, entitled Container. The hit song “Love Nwantiti,” which established him as a significant performer on the new Nigerian scene, can be found on his second album, CKay The First, which was published in 2019.
The song is representative of songs that have become popular online because of the TikTok app.
The most well-known musicians on the continent, like Davido and Burna Boy, have worked with CKay, who is pioneering a subgenre called “Emo-afrobeats” that emphasises a more poetic component of sounds.
Flavour
Flavour’s breakthrough song “Nwa Baby,” a remix of his earlier smash “Ashawo,” was published ten years ago and propelled him to fame throughout the continent. Several songs with equally popular dance beats have since been released, including “Golibe,” “Ada ada,” and “Baby na yoka.”
Flavour started music at age 13 in the local church choir. 2005 saw the release of N’abania, his debut album. After releasing his second album Uplifted five years later, which featured the hits “Nwa Baby” and “Oyi remix” with Tiwa Savage, he started to find popularity.
While being less well-known abroad than his other peers, Flavor is a definite thing in the Nigerian and African music scenes.
His inclusion on our list in seventh place is quite striking and can be explained by his longevity and his consistency in creating albums and making hits, which have brought him today more than 1.06 billion views for all of his videos.
Though it has not yet achieved breakout success, his most recent song “Game Changer,” which was uploaded in January 2023, has received almost 3 million views.

The twins have come a long way since their participation in a talent show and their first two albums, Last Nite in 2003 and Get Squared in 2005.
They have recorded songs like “Do me,” “No one like you,” “Possibility,” or even “Personally,” which is a tribute to Michael Jackson, one of their favourite idols.
