Grammy-winning artist, Burna Boy has spoken out about his reasons for being silent during the ongoing 2023 presidential elections.

This comes after the announcement of the collation results for various states in Nigeria, with Peter Obi’s victory in Lagos State serving as its highlight.

Burna Boy, who was previously chastised for remaining silent and not speaking out in support of his preferred candidate, now declares that he believes in none of the candidates or their parties.

In an Instagram story, Odogwu wrote; “I dunno why it’s such a big deal to some Nigerians that I’ve not been vocal about the elections. Personally I don’t have a candidate that I believe in.

“I’ve never supported any political party or candidate in my life beacause I don’t want to make you vote and then blame me when the person fucks up as usual. That being said, I hope all votes count and the best man wins.”

In the meantime, Burna Boy has cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to do the correct thing.

Nigerians flocked to the polls on February 25, 2022, to actively participate in the 2023 presidential, senate, and house of representatives elections.

The exercise which took place on Sunday, February 26th, witnessed a massive turnout of voters, including some of the entertainment industry’s top personalities including Falz, Patoranking, Ladipoe, P-Square, and a plethora of others.

Burna Boy who didn’t partake in the electoral process aired his thoughts from afar.

The Port Harcourt singer advised INEC not to allow itself to be used as a weapon for electoral manipulation or rigging in 2023.

He urged the electoral body to accept the choice made by the voters who turned out in large numbers to vote in the presidential and National Assembly elections on February 25.
