Burna Boy Reacts to Performing at the 2023 NBA Halftime Show.
Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, has spoken out about his feelings about appearing at the 2023 NBA Halftime Show.
The NBA All-Star Game, which was held on February 20, 2023, in Salt Lake City, Utah, was created to feature basketball greats from both conferences—Team Lebron and Team Giannis—competing in an exciting game to raise money for charity.
Apart from the sporting events, the music portion of the evening was also a highlight, with Nigerian international talents Burna Boy, Rema, and Tems taking the stage for an Afrobeats-themed performance.
This marked the first time any Nigerian musician had performed in the NBA halftime show.

The Grammy-winning Burna Boy, backed by his consistently excellent Outsiders Band, opened the night with an incredibly exhilarating rendition of “Anybody” after being introduced by Cameroonian sensation Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors.
The African Giant then performed “It’s Plenty” and “Ye” before concluding with his well-known “Last Last.”
“I’m about to take you on a journey to Africa without even going on a plane,” he said before getting into his songs.
In an interview after the performance, the singer stated that as a child, he wished to play in the NBA; therefore, being in that situation as an artist is a lovely experience, since he made it to the NBA either way.
“Ah mehn, It’s a dream, it’s amazing, it’s like, I had dreams of playing in the NBA as a kid, but you know I got to perform at the NBA, I guess I made it either way,” Burna said in the interview.
