Chris Brown, Wizkid’s ‘Call Me Every Day’ Wins Big At 2023 NAACP Image Awards

Wizkid and Tems triumph at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards..
During the recently held 2023 NAACP Image Awards, Wizkid and Tems made Nigerians proud as they both win big in their respective categories.
Chris Brown and Wizkid’s song “Call Me Every Day” won Best Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary).
Wizkid now holds the record for the most NAACP Image Awards victories by a Nigerian musician, with five.
Chris Brown also won the Best Male Artist award, giving the ‘Under The Influence‘ singer two victories in one night.
In another development, Tems, a 2023 Grammy Award-winning Nigerian, received her first NAACP Image Award.
She received the award for Outstanding International Song for the song “No Woman No Cry,” which she composed for the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The ceremony which began on Monday night saw Beyoncé take home the most awards, including outstanding female artist, outstanding soul/R&B song for “Cuff It” and outstanding album for Renaissance.
Chris Brown was the next big winner, taking home two trophies for best male artist and best duo, group, or collaboration (contemporary) alongside Wizkid for “Call Me Every Day” off his album Breezy.
In addition, Rihanna won for her song “Lift Me Up” from the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in the category of outstanding music video/visual album.
Other notable winners include Quavo and Takeoff for best hip-hop/rap song for “Hotel Lobby,” Silk Sonic for outstanding duo, group, or collaboration (Traditional) for “Love’s Train,” Black Panther: Wakanda Forever for outstanding soundtrack/compilation album, and Erica Campbell for outstanding gospel/Christian song for “Positive.”
The NAACP will continue to honour winners in non-televised categories digitally at 5 p.m. PT through Thursday and in person at an awards banquet and presentation on Friday. The 54th NAACP Image Awards will then be broadcast live on BET from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
