Fireboy DML receives new certified Platinum in the US, Joining Wizkid and Davido to achieve this Impressive Feat.
Nigerian Afrobeat singer and performer Adedamola Adefolahan, known professionally as Fireboy DML, has bagged a new platinum certification in the US with his hit song “Peru.”
The YBNL prince has joined a very tight and unique list of afrobeats musicians that have accomplished this extraordinary achievement in the United States.
Fireboy DML entered the elite group of performers like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Rema, and CKay as the only afrobeats artists to gain a platinum certification in the US after selling over one million digital copies of a song with his smash hit “Peru.” This achievement is a career-high for the singer.
Peru is the song that catapulted Fireboy to an international level and made him known to a bigger international audience.

After the massive and explosive collaboration with Ed Sheeran on the remix of the hit song, “Peru,” which was released on July 21, 2021, has also been certified Platinum in the UK after selling over 600,000 digital units.
On February 16th, 2023, the RIAA approved the certification.

Recall, Mp3bullet.ng reported that “Peru” had already been gold certified on April 14, 2022. The song was a wide international success, leading to a remix with Ed Sheeran.
