Rihanna discusses parenthood, the Super Bowl, and the release date of her upcoming album.
Rihanna has opened up on when her highly anticipated album will most likely be released, her Super Bowl performance and how motherhood has changed her.
With her boyfriend ASAP Rocky and her son, whose name has not yet been made public, Rihanna appeared on the cover of the March 2023 issue of British Vogue.
The Barbadian singer discusses parenthood, the release date of her new album, and her spectacular Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in the interview titled “Rihanna Reborn.”
Rihanna, whose last album Anti came out in 2016, revealed music is once again a priority in her life. She also assured her new album should be released in 2023: “I want it to be this year. Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.”
Rihanna promised her ninth studio album will be unlike anything she had ever done before her Super Bowl performance at State Farm Stadium.
“I’m feeling open to exploring, discovering, creating, things that are new, things that are different, things that are off, weird, might not ever make sense to my fans, you know”, she shared.

Rihanna spoke on her first nine months of motherhood and second pregnancy. “Oh my God, it’s legendary. It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever.”
“The desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far because … because it doesn’t matter”, she said. Her son with A$AP Rocky’s name has yet to be revealed to the public.
Rihanna previously declined to perform at the 2019 Super Bowl, so what changed? She did so in support of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
There’s still a lot of mending to be done in my eyes,” Rihana told British Vogue, “but it’s powerful to break those doors, and have representation at such a high, high level and a consistent level.” The Barbadian star aldo added she is proud that Hip Hop music was the focus of two consecutive Super Bowls, with Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and more performing in 2022 for SB LVI in Los Angeles.
Speaking on parenting with lover, ASAP Rocky, “We’re best friends with a baby,” the Grammy winner said.
Rihanna added that while the couple has always been “on the same page” throughout their relationship, “Everything changes when you have a baby but I wouldn’t say it’s done anything but made us closer.”
