Philani gave the following justification for AKA posting his location on his Instagram page, “the way he embraced me when he came through how he called me through earlier in the day and said Benni I know you got a new spot lets go check it out I wanna go cut my hair at your place.
“I keep hearing about the food and the fish at your place, I wanna come eat at your place. Benni don’t worry today I’m gonna promote your business that’s why if you look at it he was all like that. He was there to support all of us, he was there to support Durban.”
Philani went on to say that AKA was thrilled about all of his major plans for this year. “The conversations that we were all having within this dinner that we were in, the throwbacks, talking about the things that happened in the past, talking about hip-hop and how this new genre amapiano has taken over and what they were doing to bring it back.
“He was so inspired, he had plans on doing a show, a whole show with a choir, he had so many plans that he was going to do and he was going to do this show here in Durban ICC. He was going to do that show a concert.”
