Wizkid’s former manager Godwin Tom discounts how the musician borrowed money to advance his career.
Godwin Tom, a renowned talent manager, creative entrepreneur and the Chief Executive Officer at iManage Africa, has revealed how Nigerian superstar Wizkid once took a loan for his career.
In a recent podcast interview, Godwin Tom, who formerly managed Wizkid at the beginning of his career, revealed this.
Tom discusses the necessity of musicians investing in their careers throughout the podcast, which focused on African music in the worldwide market. And while he’s about it, he gives the examples of Wizkid and Wande Coal.

He divulges that Wizkid took out a loan at some time in his career to promote his brand because he had faith in himself. He adds that Wande Coal also engaged in the same approach.
He said: ‘I know for example that Wizkid took a loan at some point for his career. Wande Coal did the same thing.’
