Blaqbonez talks about the impact his mother had on his rap career.
Blaqbonez expresses gratitude for his rap career and this time attributes it to his mother.
Emeka Akumefule, commonly known as Blaqbonez, recently held his annual music concert titled Breaking the Yoke of Love.
The extravagant concert featured amazing performers including Ayra Starr, Boy Spice, Crayon, Bella Shmurda, CKay, and other well-known Nigerian singers who performed on stage alongside the quirky rapper.
Blaqbonez called his mother up to the stage during his performance to thank her for her unwavering commitment to seeing that his dream of becoming a musician came true.
The Back Uni singer talked about how his mum shaped his rap career.
Blaqbonez continued by describing how his mother supported him wholeheartedly although other family members opposed his aspirations.
“My mother used to play rap music and listen to MI, 2PAC, and Puff Daddy. I went, and I saw and felt like I really needed to give credit to my mother. She told me to go to school; when you finish, I will support your music career.”

In the meantime, Blaqbonez’s mum has decided to also finally follow er dreams as she recently made her debut in Nollywood.
Blaqbonez took to Twitter on the 30th of January 2022 to share a video of his mother’s debut film
In the snippet of the film, his mom can be acting with popular actor, Mike Ezuruonye. From the clip, she seems to be playing the role of Mike’s mother.
