Nigerian superstar, Rema maintains his strong position in the top 10 of the most recent UK Official Singles Chart, while Libianca’s “People” hits a record milestone.

Rema’s “Calm Down” drops one spot this week, moving from its top position of No. 6 to No. 7. The Selena Gomez blockbuster hit remix continues to set the standard for other Afrobeats singles as it extends its stay on the chart to 24 weeks.

The chart run of Libianca’s crossover hit “People” has now reached six weeks as it moves up five positions to a new peak position of No. 17.

Rush by Ayra Starr also sets a new peak at No. 58, moving up 19 spots from No. 77 the previous week.

Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last‘ enters its 36th week on the chart with a NO. 87 placement moving up eight places from its 95th position last week.

    US Afrobeats Chart:

Libianca’s ‘People‘ retains its top spot for a third straight week as it enters its 6th week on the chart.

Asake’s “Organise” drops to No. 6, Wizkid’s “Bad to Me” holds onto No. 7, and Fireboy’s “Coming Back For You” makes a comeback at No. 9.

This week’s premieres include Wande Coal and Olamide’s “Kpe Paso,” which debuted at No. 13, and Burna Boy’s “Common Person,” which debuted at No. 8.

In other news, Rema’s “Calm Down” remix has officially sold more than one million sales in the United States, according to a tweet from his fan account, earning it an RIAA platinum plaque.

The hit song was first certified gold on the 30th of November 2022 after selling over 500,000 digital units in the US before receiving its platinum certification over 2 months later on the 2nd of February 2023.

The record, which was released in February 2022 as the lead single from Rema’s debut album ‘Raves & Roses,’ went on to become one of the best-selling Afrobeats songs of 2022.

The song has received over a billion plays across all platforms, and after he broke the previous record held by Ckay’s “Love Nwantiti“, it has also become the most-watched Nigerian music video on YouTube.

By earning a platinum certification for “Calm Down,” Rema will join CKay, Wizkid, and Burna Boy as leading musicians from Nigeria to have this honour.
