CCTV Footage Of AKA’s Assassination Released
CCTV footage of AKA’s murder in Durban has begun to circulate. The rapper can be seen talking to and hugging his friend and former manager Tibz in the footage before they are both fatally shot a short while later.
The footage backs up police reports that “Information at police’s disposal at this stage indicates that the men were walking towards their vehicle from a restaurant when they were allegedly approached by two armed suspects who walked to them from across the street and shot the victims at close range.” According to reports, the suspects left the area on foot.
The police also further state that “ Both victims were declared dead at the scene. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage and police investigations are ongoing.” Which is attested by the video which clearly shows AKA falling and instantly bleeding.

Meanwhile, Mp3bullet gathered that another person believed to be AKA’s bodyguard was also wounded, while another unidentified person, who is understood to be a close friend of AKA, was also shot dead.
The management, however, has confirmed the passing of the rapper and made an official statement via his social media page.
The statement reads:
“It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of February 10, 2023. We are awaiting further details from the Durban Police.
To us, Kiernan Jarrryd Forbes was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, most importantly father to his beloved daughter Kairo. To many, he was AKA, SUPERMEGA, BHOVA, and the many other names his legion of fans called him by. Our son was loved and he gave love in return. In this time of grief we appeal for your compassion, space and time to congregate as family decide on the upcoming days.
We thank you for the love and support we have received thus far, and ask you continue to keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the lord.”
