    Burna Boy is on the hot seat following his double loss at the 65th Grammy Awards and social media netizens have a lot to say about it.

    The Grammy Award-winning artist received nominations in two categories for the 65th Grammy Awards in 2023, which were presented on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the Microsoft Theater in the US.

    The frontline act and owner of Spaceship Entertainment lost the “Best Global Album” category to Masa Takumi’s album “Sakura.”

    Additionally, he was defeated in the “Best Global Performance” category by a song called “Bayethe” which was a collaboration between Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, and Nomcebo Zikode.

    As anticipated, supporters of the African Giant and Afrobeats, in general, have expressed their disappointment on social media.

    Some perceived it as retaliation for making fans wait for hours for his show in Lagos in 2022 and then insulting them upon his arrival. Others supported his defeat by pointing out that, in spite of the setback, he had still won a Grammy.

    While some opted to mock the defeat, warning fans who would attend a future performance by Burna to exercise caution so as not to arouse the anger of the African Giant.

    Check out some of the reactions;

    I’m so glad he didn’t win because look how rude and uncouth he is right now. Now imagine if he had won 😭😭

    Not Burna Boy fans trying to play victim card this morning. When Burna Boy lost Grammy in 2020, majority of the people sympathized with him, when Wizkid and Burna won in 2021, Nigerians celebrated Burna’s win and refused to acknowledge Wizkid’s. Wizkid lost in 2022 and it was…
