Iyanya explains why he pushed a man who was spraying money on his head off the stage
Iyanya has explained why he pushed a man on stage at a performance in Akwa after a video of the incident went viral.
The musician was singing when the man was seen in the viral video placing money on him as any other fan would.
Unexpectedly, Iyanya shoved the man away so forcefully that he collapsed, even though he had one of his hands lightly sheltering him from the man.
In the video, the “Like” crooner is seen trying to shield the fan from going beyond boundaries, but the overzealous fans persisted before he received a push from the singer.
The video has gone viral, and many people have criticised the artist for acting inappropriately considering that the man was showering him with cash.
In order to stop the story from spiralling out of control, Iyanya on Twitter revealed that the man kept slapping his face with the money and tried to hold his hand, but he continued.
He wrote:
The guy kept slapping my face with the money and I tried to hold his hand and he continued. First no matter how much you are spraying, don’t slap someone with it, that’s disrespectful.

According to DSP Bright Edafe who is the Spokesman for the Delta State Police Command, the fan who was shoved off the stage can get Iyanya arrested should he choose to file an official report.
“Normally, if that guy makes an official report, @Iyanya can be arrested for this. I come in peace”

Since then, Iyanya’s action on Twitter has divided minds as some followers sided with him and others didn’t.
It remains to be seen if the fan who is spraying cash will make a formal complaint that may result in the “Kukere” singer being arrested.
