MTV Base South Africa has unveiled its list of the Top 10 Hottest MCs of 2022, and several SA rappers like Blcxkie, Nasty C, and a slew of others made the list.
Sete hitmaker K.O comes in at number two, followed by Nasty C at number three and Maglera Doe Boy at number four. A-Reece is the last person on the list to finish the first half.
Top MC and hip-hop culture enthusiast Tshego Koke, a member of the Paramount Africa Culture Squad and a heartthrob hosted the two-part series.
Industry icons Kyeezi, French fried, Uncle Partytime, Misa Narrates, Marz Ambrosio, and DJ Fif Laaa were all included on the panel.

Number 06: 25K
Since the release of his Culture Vulture hit in 2018, 25K has made significant progress. The South African trap rapper kept making a name for himself, advancing from winning a SA Hip-Hop Award to being nominated for the coveted best hip-hop album at the SA Music Awards 2022 for his debut studio album PheliMakaveli.
Number 07: EMTEE
Emtee recently released Logan, his third studio album, which has several gold-certified radio songs like Waves, Brand New Day, and Long Way. Making 2022 his lucky year, the South African hip-hop hit producer received two nominations at this year’s 28th SA Music Awards in the categories of Artist of the Year and Best Hip-Hop Album. At the Global Music Awards Africa 2022, he was also recognized as the year’s top hip-hop artist.
Number 08: PRIDDY UGLY
Priddy Ugly released his new EP, MUD, to mark the first anniversary of his sophomore album SOIL, and as a result, he received four nominations for the 2022 South African Hip Hop Awards. Lordkez, Marcus Harvey, Blxckie, Zoocci Coke Dope, Lady Du, Maglera Doe Boy, and other artists are included in the EP.

Number 10: LUCASRAPS
As the first signee of Def Jam Recordings Africa, he dropped his second album, 031 to The World 2.0, which featured AKA, Nasty C, Nadia Nakai, Blxckie, YoungstaCPT, and Geek Fam among other notable artists. In addition to being nominated for best album of the year, the male of the year, and freshman of the year, 031 to The World 2.0 received three nominations at the SA Hip Hop Awards.
