Manchester United start ‘appropriate steps’ to deal with Cristiano Ronaldo after the controversial interview.
Following the full release of Cristiano Ronaldo’s 90-minute interview with journalist Piers Morgan, Manchester United has issued a second statement.
Manchester United claim they have ‘initiated appropriate steps’ to deal with Cristiano Ronaldo following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan this week.
United are reportedly upset with Ronaldo’s remarks, which targeted Erik ten Hag, the Glazer family, and claimed the team had become stale since Sir Alex Ferguson resigned in 2013.
Ronaldo’s contract, which is worth more than £500,000 a week and still has seven months left on it, is up for termination, and United is considering doing so.

Ronaldo has already been suspended by United this season after he returned to the dressing room in the final stages of the 2-0 win over Tottenham in October.
During the interview on TalkTV this week, Ronaldo said he felt ‘provoked’ by Ten Hag after the United manager asked him to play for the final three minutes of the game.
Following the entire viewing of Ronaldo’s interview, of which only bits have been publicly revealed since last Sunday, United has officially announced that they are taking action against the 37-year-old.
A statement released by United on Friday read:
‘Manchester United has this morning initiated appropriate steps in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview.
‘We will not be making further comment until this process reaches its conclusion.’
