Timaya reveals how he linked up with BNXN to make “Cold Outside”

Nigerian dancehall singer, Timaya has disclosed how he linked up with BNXN and how the new school singer loves food.
In an interview with Gucci and Gigi of Coolfm, the “Cold Outside” crooner opened up on his career, life and the Grammy.
Timaya shared how he recorded one of the biggest songs of 2021, “Cold Outside” with BNXN (Buju), recalling how they met and how he has always loved him.
He stated that the first time he heard BNXN’s voice was when Ladipoe dropped their 2021 collaboration, “Feeling“.
“I was in America on time, I heard ehm Buju and this rapper guy, Ladipoe, sometimes I cal him Poe Poe (laughs). You know their song ‘I like the way am feeling’, that was my biggest song , so I loved it. So i got back from the states, i was jamming it to Willie, ‘Willie have you heard this song, that’s my tune.’

So we went out, went to one lounge and someone disrespected me, i just got angry and was like let’s go home. So i got into my car and everybody was telling me ‘I’m so proud of you’, you just left’. You know where men are, things go happen.
So I was really upset and Willie was like, ‘I don’t like Papi to feel like this, he na called Buju. So Buju now came to another place where we were, when Buju came I was like ‘ahn ahn’, you know the shock, I was excited, I was a fan, the first he said to me was ‘Papi, I’ve been wanting to work with you, let’s go into the studio,’ that how we got into the studio.
He also disclosed BNXN’s love for food and which motivates him to work better. Timaya explains how BNXN came up with a verse after eating nourishing “Pepper Soup”,
“I Didn’t Know Buju Likes Food oooo, I didn’t know he was a foodie like me.”.
Timaya stated that Buju and the late Kefee are the only people whose voices have gotten to him.
Nonetheless, Timaya describes passion as the driving force behind his music career spanning over two decades.
