Rema explains how, at the age of 17, he was able to buy his mother a car.
Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name Rema, has recalled how, at the age of 17, he bought his mother a car.
The singer of “Calm Down” revealed this in an interview when talking about his upbringing and difficulties.
Rema said that his family suffered from severe poverty and was unable to afford to pay for food, power, or other essentials.
He stated that he was saddened by the disgrace his mother was experiencing and that he did not feel secure sitting idle and doing nothing.
Rema stated that he travelled out of the country, but he did not inform his mother that he would be gone for an extended period of time since she would be heartbroken and would most likely not agree.

According to the Jonzing Records, he engaged in a variety of hustles, some of which he was proud of and others of which he was not so proud.
He stated that when he returned to Nigeria after a year, the first thing he did was buy a car for his mother, which he considered as him sowing a seed to his mother.
