Erik Ten Hag reveals that the Manchester United star is out until World Cup as Ronaldo is drafted back in for Europa League.
During his news conference, Manchester United Manager Erik Ten Hag said that the Red Devils’ star is out until the World Cup, with Ronaldo recruited back in for the Europa League.
Ten Hag revealed that Raphael Varane will be unavailable until at least the World Cup, after sustaining an injury against Chelsea.
Varane was forced off injured and was upset after overextending during a challenge against Chelsea over the weekend and falling to the ground in pain.
While the Frenchman appeared to be in trouble as he fell and sobbed his way down the tunnel at Stamford Bridge, the situation surrounding Ronaldo was less obvious.

After refusing to be replaced against Tottenham last week and departing Old Trafford early, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was dropped by Ten Hag and spent the weekend working with the under-21s. But he has subsequently joined the first team in training and might play on Thursday.
The World Cup is next month, and Ten Hag has now announced he won’t play for United again. He also gave an update on Cristiano Ronaldo, who was dropped over the weekend.
“Cristiano Ronaldo will be in the squad,” Ten Hag confirmed in his press conference ahead of United’s game against Sheriff Tiraspol, adding: “Raphael Varane isn’t in the squad. He will be out until the World Cup. He won’t play in this block for Man United.”
