When you mention the Most Influential Artists in the Nigerian Music scene, Davido name must pop up. Despite the wealthy background from which the singer came from, he is one of Nigeria’s most consistent and hardworking artists.
In the short period since his breakthrough in the music industry, Davido has successfully pushed his brand in Nigeria and around the world and is one of Nigeria’s top three artists.
The Record Label Boss has left a legacy that will live on in perpetuity; his personal accomplishments cannot be exaggerated, and he has helped to put numerous Nigerian musicians on the international map.
The majority of individuals he put on the map have gone on to become megastars in their own right, although some have faded into the background as a result of different circumstances.

Artists Signed to DMW;
Mayorkun
Mayorkun is one of the few Nigerian Artists who get a chance at fame after their cover of another artist’s song gets viral.
Davido chanced upon him on social media signing to his “Money” song and invited him over a DM to his house and from there, it was history.
Mayorkun is one of the few artists in the DMW Family that bonds well with Davido and is even seen by many as his protege.
Peruzzi
Apart from being an amazing singer, Peruzzi is a talented songwriter which has earned him a valuable spot in the DMW Label. In fact, some of Davido’s hit songs from 2017 were written by him.
Although there has been a controversy as to how Peruzzi got signed by Davido, it hasn’t stopped the singer from flourishing. With hit songs like “Majesty”, “Amaka”, “Gunshot”, “Only One”, “Nana”, Peruzzi is another amazing artist Davido has helped launched.
Dremo
Although Dremo started his music professionally in his first record label APPE Gang in 2013, it wasn’t he got signed to DMW that things kicked off for him.
Few Months after signing to DMW, he dropped his first track, “Fela” and from there dropped two albums, “Codename Vol 1 & 2” and several other EPs.
Idowest
Idowest gained a street rep thanks to his 2017 hit song, “Omo Sheteperi” and in 2018 joined the DMW Label Family. In an interview, he revealed that he chased Davido since 2015 before he struck gold and finally got signed.

The Artists his collaboration with blew them up;
Mc Galaxy
Although one would argue that “Sekem” blew MC Galaxy into a Nationwide favourite in 2014, two years prior, he gained prominence after winning Davido’s Skelewu competition in 2012. The two would collaborate on MC Galaxy’s ‘Nek Unek” in 2013 which was a hit before “Sekem” became a club anthem.
Runtown
Runtown gathered airplay when he released Party Like 1980 but his big break didn’t come until he got a verse from Davido.
The DMW chief laced Runtown’s biggest hit, Gallardo with one of his best verses and the Sound God has gone on to become a star of his own.
Tekno
Tekno is among those who have benefited from Davido in terms of a collaborative project.
Tekno became known and loved by music lovers after Davido featured in his 2014 hit single, Holiday. Davido’s star power heavily rode the song into the hearts of thousands of music lovers and made them fall in love with the equally talented Tekno.
Tekno would years later replicate the favour by writing and producing the award-winning and double Gold-certified “If“, one of Davido’s biggest song to date.
Humblesmith
Humblesmith was gained a bit of fame with his gospel-like song, “Osinachi” but it got bigger after Davido jumped on the remix.
Davido got downloads and streams for Humblesmith by addressing his baby mama drama on the song.
No doubt Osinachi was the biggest hit song Humblesmith has released ever since then.
The Artists whose careers he tried to revive;
Lyta
After ending things on a bad note with his former boss, Olamide (which was almost a career suicide) and trying to find his feet in the industry again, Davido graciously agreed to feature on Lyta comeback singer “Monalisa”. Davido also played a huge role in the music video of the song.
Lyta is currently signed to Marlian Music still trying to shed his past controversies off and dominate the industry.
Sauce Kid/Sinzu
Sauce Kid was a popular figure in the music scene in the early 200os with his unique style of rap songs. After a while of being in the background, he released a song titled “Carolina” in 2011 featuring Davido.
In 2017, he got arrested in the US on bank fraud charges and after completing his two-year jail term for aggravated identity theft, Not minding what people would say, Davido opened his arms wide to Sauce Kid and signed him to the DMW family. Not much have been heard from him however in terms of music.
Dammy Krane
In 2016, reports of Davido signing Dammy Krane flooded Social media. As of that time, Krane had just finished his contract with 2Baba‘s Hypertek. However, nothing came out of the relationship as Dammy Krane would get arrested in 2017 for card fraud in the US.
Although he was acquitted of all charges, Dammy’s career took a nosedive as is still struggling to revive his career, not much has been heard of his contract with DMW.
May D
May D came into the music scene with former music duo, P-square and he was one of the instruments behind the making of their Award-winning album, “The Invasion”.
Unfortunately, his relationship with the brothers went sour and also causing his career to take a nosedive. It wasn’t until 2020 when he made a comeback with “Lowo Lowo” and Davido jumped on the remix. A few weeks later, the two announced a partnership of some sort.
