That awkward moment at Felabration where Burna Boy was almost butt-naked
Felebration is a yearly festival that takes place to honour the memory of one of Africa’s biggest icons, Fela Kuti. Whenever the event comes up, it’s usually dominated by thrilling performances from talented stars and various colourful activities.
In 2013, Burna Boy decided to take his own performance to another level by channelling Fela’s spirit.
The pop sensation came on stage clothed but stripped down to his pants to the amazement of the crowd.
While Burna Boy hasn’t made such a move like this again, his Felabration performance is one for the history books.
Wizkid adorning a Micheal Jackson look-alike Gucci
Wizkid is one of Nigeria’s best-dressed Nigerian artists and he always serves when it comes to his dressings.
Wizkid shopped the Gucci line to get what would become one of his most iconic on-stage appearances to date for his performance at the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island in 2017.
Everyone will always remember his Gucci crystal jumper, which was reminiscent of one Michael Jackson once wore. He was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening with his attire.
When Yemi Alade’s catsuit nearly tore apart at a performance:
Every December, event organisers collaborate with prominent performers to keep us in a joyful spirit. Yemi Alade enthralled the crowd with her customary energetic performance of her songs at a festival in 2018 in this manner. However, the cheers and applause faded as members of the audience sought to warn her that her spangly catsuit was about to part ways from behind.
In spite of the awkwardness of the situation, Yemi Alade eventually handled it like a real performer by including a lyric about her almost disastrous wardrobe malfunction in the song Na Gode, which served as the set’s climax.
Laycon’s big Shoe
In 2021, Laycon who was enjoying the aftermath of his BBNaija win was one of the performing guests for the Headies award that year.
His appearance on the stage caused a buzz on the internet not because of his performance but because of his footwear which appeared to be bigger than his body frame.
Laycon appeared on stage to perform with DJ Neptune and Joeboy in oversized white footwear. Fans couldn’t stop talking about it.
Speaking about the shoe, Laycon revealed that the footwear was intentional because he intends on making a big step impression for those coming behind him.
Ayra Starr
Mavin Princess, Ayra Starr is greatly beloved by Gen Z thanks to her soulful and uplifting songs. While she has managed to stay away from major scandals, a performance almost changed that record.
During a performance at the University of Benin, the โBloody Samaritanโ hitmaker first took to the stage wearing purple leggings and a blazer.
However, she removed her jacket and performed to the crowd, wearing only a brazier, in the heat of the frenetic performance.
While the crowd enjoyed her performance, Netizens weren’t impressed with her fashion move as they slammed Don Jazzy for allowing her to make such a move. Their major reason was that she was still a young girl who was just entering adulthood.

Burna Boy rocks a crop top
This would be the second time Burna Boy will be appearing on our list. The singer shut down his concert in Norway recently and in his usual manner gave a thrilling performance.
However, his dressing overshadowed the whole performance as netizens took to social media to tease him over it.
The self-described African Giant made the decision to perform on stage while wearing a crop top and blue ruffled jeans, a fashion move that had fans comparing him to Ayra Starr .
