YBNL CEO, Olamide turned a year older today and to celebrate him, Mp3bullet.ng compiles a list of the major times the singer helped rising stars by featuring on their remixes.
In the Nigerian music industry, there are various types of people; some are GOATs and others are kingmakers, but Olamide Baddo is unquestionably both thanks to his Midas touch of an assist.
Baddosneh as he is also known is one of the few famous mainstream Nigerian singers who has always lent a helping hand to those below the music ecosystem.
Besides launching his own record label shortly after his breakout year, Olamide has kept supporting the country’s up-and-coming musicians by either giving them a verse or featuring them on his projects.
Now most upcoming artists run to him when they need a verse that could propel their career and sometimes all it takes is one remix featuring the veteran rapper to make it happen.

Zazoo Zehh- Portable
Before the success of “Zazuu Zeh”, Portable was an unknown artist in search of fame until dancer Poco Lee introduced him to Olamide.
In this instance, there existed an original version of Zazuu Zeh, but Olamide spiced things up by guaranteeing that the remix was made by young star producer P-Prime. His verse was polished, and as was to be expected, the song’s PR value increased, making it one of the biggest singles to dominate in December 2021.
Sometimes remix- T.I Blaze
Olamide introduced the world to a new act to watch out for just five days into the year 2022. It just took a one-minute sneak peek of the song’s unreleased remix on Olamide’s Instagram page for T.I. Blaze to get the exposure he required as an underground Afro-fusion talent.
The original song experienced a significant increase in streaming even before the remix was formally released, and within 24 hours of the remix’s release, it had amassed over 500k streams across all music platforms.
Vision 2020 remix- Bella Shmurda
Like most emerging artists to whom Olamide handed a significant break, Bella Shmurda had been making movements on his own, gaining his own fans and recognition. He and Olamide, according to reports, met through dancer and hypeman Poco Lee.
Baddo agreed to contribute the remix of Bella Shmurda’s 2019 song “Vision 2020,” and the rest is history.
Veteran producer ID Cabasa, who also worked on Olamide’s breakthrough hit “Eni Duro,” produced both versions.
In multiple interviews, Bella Shmurda disclosed that Olamide also financed the remix’s music video, a decision that helped one of Nigeria’s most promising street-hop artists break through.
Jagaban remix- Ycee
The youthful and fly YCee had released the song “Condo” with Patoranking and was enjoying success as an underground rapper. He then upped the ante by dropping the massive hip-hop track “Jagaban,” which he produced himself.
Even though the song was already doing well, the remix with an Olamide inclusion, which was released in 2015, exploded the movement and brought YCee and his music to a much-needed wider audience. Since then, YCee has continued to release popular songs.

Shoki remix – Lil Kesh
After releasing two songs by himself (Lyrically and Shoki), “Kesh” was not receiving the attention he needed until Olamide made an appearance on the remix of the party song “Shoki,” guaranteeing the inclusion of Davido and another top performer. As expected, the song, which was released in 2014, became a huge hit and so effectively launched Lil Kesh’s career.
