I will be kneeling across 36 states for 36 days – Nasboi spotted on his knees in Osun State, pleads with Davido for a verse on his upcoming song

Popular Nigerian comedian and entertainer Lawal Michael Nasiru Bolaji, widely known as Nasboi, has taken a bold step in his quest to secure a music collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Davido.
On Tuesday, May 28, Nasboi stirred reactions online after sharing a post on his verified Instagram page, announcing a rather unconventional strategy to attract the singer’s attention.
The multitalented entertainer, who has seamlessly juggled careers in comedy, music, and acting, declared that he would kneel in front of secretariats in all 36 states of Nigeria—one per day—for 36 days.
“In 2019, I started mimicking Davido to get his attention for my music, but the videos blew me up as a comedian.. (God’s plan) I am back to plea with 001. Bless me with a verse for this song king. I will be kneeling across 36 states for 36 days,” Nasboi wrote in the heartfelt post.
Demonstrating the seriousness of his mission, Nasboi commenced the campaign in his home state, Osun, stating that he chose the location because both he and Davido share roots there.
A video clip accompanying the post showed him kneeling at the Osun State Secretariat, marking day one of what appears to be a marathon of dedication.
He added, “1 state down! 35 more to go ❤️ Osun state first. Because we’re both from Osun.”
Nasboi, who has built a modest music catalogue with tracks like Small Money, Short Skirt, and Umbrella, is now aiming to return to his musical roots—this time hoping for a game-changing feature from the DMW boss.
The skit maker, who first rose to prominence by impersonating Davido in 2019, humorously admitted that while his mimicry was meant to launch his music career, it unexpectedly catapulted him into comedy stardom instead.
Urging his followers to support the campaign, he wrote, “I pray this dream comes to pass. Please as a fan of Nasboi, just tag @davido every day when you see the post…. Day 001 Osun state, 35 states to go.”
As the 36-day appeal begins to gather momentum online, fans and industry watchers are keen to see whether this daring public plea will eventually lead to a collaboration between Nasboi and Davido.
