Nigerian music icon 2Baba Idibia’s rumored new partner, Natasha Osawaru, has fueled speculation about their relationship by changing her Instagram name to ‘Honourable Natasha IDIBIA.’
This development follows weeks of rumors linking the singer to Natasha in the aftermath of his split from his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.
The speculation intensified after a viral video showed 2Baba proposing to Natasha, an Edo State lawmaker. In the footage, a visibly excited Natasha accepted the proposal as 2Baba went down on one knee before celebrating with a warm hug, money spraying, and an engagement ring.
Meanwhile, Annie Idibia recently made a symbolic move of her own by dropping the ‘Idibia’ surname and reverting to her maiden name, Macaulay.’
In a heartfelt Instagram post, she expressed gratitude to her support system while subtly marking a new chapter in her life. Additionally, she wiped her Instagram page, removing all previous posts.
With Natasha publicly embracing the ‘Idibia’ name and Annie distancing herself from it, fans are closely following the unfolding developments in what has become one of Nigeria’s most talked-about celebrity breakups.
Recall, In an exclusive interview with Stella Korkus, Natasha dismissed the claims allegedly made by 2Baba’s mother, Rose Idibia. She maintained that the beads hold deep cultural and sentimental significance rather than any mystical or supernatural influence.
“Those beads were given to me on my birthday. They represent a princess from a royal family. You know I am from the Igbinedion Royal Family,” she explained.
Providing further context, Natasha revealed that the beads—called EZENEKA, meaning “River that never runs dry”—were a gift from her mother on her last birthday. She also disclosed that a pearl necklace worn by 2Baba was originally given to her by her grandfather, who had received it from the late Queen of England in recognition of his knighthood.
Addressing allegations of spiritual manipulation, Natasha firmly denied any such claims. “So they are just traditional beads. He liked them and wore them. There is nothing to it; they are not diabolical and do not contain juju,” she stated.
